here is the cover of my next book!!!
I’m truly obsessed. This novel is a quintessential book club/beach read—a wedding comedy and friendship story with big paperback-in-a-sandy-L.L.Bean-tote energy—and the cover perfectly captures its coastal New England setting. (The story takes place at a sprawling beach house in Mystic, Connecticut, natch.) I especially love the Vineyard Vines-inspired color palette!
Huge shoutout to designer Holly Ovenden, who has produced some of my favorite book covers in recent years (including the UK versions of Emily Henry’s Beach Read, People We Meet on Vacation, Book Lovers, and Happy Place—all of which are simply iconic). It’s an honor to have Holly’s creative vision behind my official entry into the beach read space!
(Side note regarding the cover blurb: the goal is to replace it before publication with a NEW blurb specifically for The Gay Best Friend—but in the meantime my publisher and I felt like we might as well repurpose JP’s praise for my debut, because, well, he’s him.)

The Gay Best Friend doesn’t hit stores until June 6, 2023 (lol @ me talking about next summer when it’s still technically this summer), but I would be so grateful if you’d consider placing a preorder and/or sharing this newsletter and preorder information with any readers you think might be interested.
